Erika has returned, but has failed to bring me bacon OR sausages.

I'm going to have to have stern words with her about this!

Well in that case a trip to Neal's Yard Dairy is a must on your next trip home. A world of cheeses in two deep breaths. One of my favourite places in the whole world.

Here - the worlds first scratch and sniff website -

http://www.nealsyarddairy.co.uk/

Butter, or some sort of yellow fat, is a must of course. It is the adhesive which holds it all together. "Ketchup" on the other hand, or tomato sauce as we call it here in the UK, is the absolute work of Satan and has no place in civilised society (or here in the UK either). Why spoil the whole thing by drowning it in a revolting confection of sugar and vinegar which has as much resemblance to a proper tomato as my big toe has to a ticket taker at the Ivor Theatre on a Saturday night (10 bonus points if you get that reference)!

Can you get good sausages? There must be some compensation for living in a relatively cheese and bacon free zone. Tell me there are sausages. There must be sausages!

Getting good cheese here is a bit difficult, as is getting good bacon. Luckily Erika brings me fresh supplies regually :-)

where's the ketchup and butter? Hell, if you're going to go for heart disease, do it properly... don't know what the world's coming to these days...

Is the tea with banana milk?

Technically of course, your bacon sarnies are bacon, egg, tomato and sausage sarnies. If you really want to bring on that first heart attack a little quicker, you can't go wrong by melting some cheese into that mix.
Of course then it would be a bacon, egg......Oh you get the picture.

But I WANT the egg.

Technically, my bacon sarnies consist of (in decending order of stacking):

Toast
Brown Sauce
Fried Egg
Lettuce
Sliced tomato
Bacon (3 slices of back bacon, salted and smoked)
Suasuages (3, sliced down the middle and laid flat)
Brown Sauce
Toast

I follow all that up with a cup of Tetley tea, a long sit down (with more tea) and a greatly increased risk of heart disease in later life.

I just love my sundays :-)

Yes, but you probably had it with pancakes and syrup and this is just not right. Between two slices of mighty white with an egg and a drop of Tabasco sauce or not at all. OK, that sounds a bit dictatorial and I don't want to come across as some sort of bacon fascist here. You don't have to have the egg.

NOOOOOOOO... how did I miss this? NOOOOOOO. Oh well, I did manage to have a cooked breakfast (American sytle) so at least I did have my dose of bacon (streaky)
