Sian’s first adventure - Bar-B-Q breakfast.

Friday, March 30th, 2007

Despite setting out late, both Erika and I were at the airport to meet Sian when she arrived this morning, as her flight was delayed to both a late departure and headwinds. we even had time to pick up the tickets for the HK leg of the trip prior to her clearing immigration allowing us to run late next time as well!

All went smoothly on the way home, till we hit a wild big-cat or fox (but not a dog) on the motorway doing over 100km/h. It shot out of the rainforest on the other side of the road, made it over the first 3 lanes of traffic but then under the front of our taxi. It took out most of the bumper on the drivers side, headlights, shattered the winscreen fluid bottle and dislodged the radiator and cooling fan. There was also a strange smell consisting of Bar-B-Q fox and window wash bubbles coming from the engine compartment.

No air-con in a black car stuck on the freeway is not a great combination, but luckily there was a breeze to keep us from cooking while we waited for a replacement taxi to collect us and deliver us back to my apt.
All safe, all sound.

But other than that - it’s fab to see my bestest friend again :-)

Sian’s visit

Monday, March 26th, 2007

Yay! Sian is coming out to visit to recover from what can only be described as a rubish couple of months.
Travel Books
First, a week of R&R in KL, then a short jaunt up to Cambodia to stay for a few days in Angkor where we will sleep under mosquito nets and explore the temples (although, not at the same time).

Then a hop and a jump up to Hong Kong for a few days of tourism.

Then back to the UK for Sian, and MY for me, probably in need of another holiday!

Friday, March 9th, 2007

Oh dear - this could be trouble. Publicly saying that I need to loose size in order to look good at Mike and Angel’s wedding.

And then this post from Suw and my suggestions in the comments….
And so is born the Healthier Geek project. May God bless all who sail in her.

Anyone want to join in? Pledges or heckles in the comments please.
