I’m pleasantly surprised. Who would have thunk it?
The nice part about being a pessimist is that you are constantly being either proven right or pleasantly surprised.

PS: I’m right.
Quick dash to Singapore for a work related workshop. Three days of late nights and arguments with co-workers. What fun.
Wow, that went quick. One year to the day since I arrived in MY.

Cons:
Flu + Haze. What a combination:
Dear Colleagues
The air quality across Malaysia has deteriorated to an unhealthy level of late. According to the Meteorological Service Department Malaysia, this is due to the haze resulting from the forest-burning in a neighboring country.
Central Services Department is monitoring the situation closely and will invoke the necessary business continuity plan if the Air Pollutant Index (API) increases to hazardous levels. [We have] sufficient masks for every employee and will distribute them as and when it becomes necessary to do so. In the mean time, it is strongly recommended that employees heed the Health Ministry’s call to refrain from all out doors activities in the affected areas.
Urgh. One of the side effects of dating a stewardess, is that they get exposed to flu bugs from all over the world. They then come home and give them to you.
Hence, I’m suffering from Dubai Flu. I’m getting through tissue at a rate of knots. Yuck.
I just signed this petition on the 10 Downing street site.
We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to Bring back mathematical rigor into secondary physics education.
We petition the government to return the teaching of secondary physics to the rigorous subject that it should be. Students should learn methods to mathematically describe the physical world rather than answer word questions that rely on opinion and non-scientific ideas.
My main question is: How the hell did we get to a stage where we were able to teach physics with non-scientific ideas?
I called in to see the puppy:

only to discover that his owners had bought a 50″ plasma TV. You could feel the warmth comming of it on the other side of the room. Yowsers!

Thanks for the chilled evening guys.
